U.S. National Deadline: October 2, 2017 A national
juried exhibition of small works (12 inches or smaller in any
direction). Open to artists working in all media excluding video/sound
and installation art. Exhibition open to all U.S. residents at least
18 years of age.
$2,000 in cash awards. Best in Show receives $1,000.
Cory E. Card is an independent artist, curator, and educator. Cory holds
an MFA from Rochester Institute of Technology and has held previous
positions in the Exhibition Departments at the George Eastman Museum
and the Albright Knox Art Gallery. He has taught courses in critical
theory, professional practices, drawing, 2D design, and studio survey
at Rochester Institute of Technology, The College at Brockport,
University of Rochester, and Monroe Community College.
As the former Curator at View Arts Center in Old Forge, NY, he has
organized over 80 exhibitions. Curatorial highlights include
Synthesizing Nature (View, Old Forge, NY and The Center for Contemporary
Art, Bedminster Township, NJ), Myths and Legends of the Adirondacks
Vol.1 (View, Old Forge, NY and Lake Placid Center for the Arts, Lake
Placid, NY), Forest for the Trees Vol.2 (The Wild Center, Tupper Lake,
NY), and Common Ground: A Ceramic Arts Invitational (View, Old Forge,
NY). Card resides in Old Forge, NY, and is a practicing visual artist
whose current body of work, Sweepings, is an investigation into the
microcosm of dust and debris.

All entries must be submitted electronically.
Judging will be done entirely from JPEGs. No other formats will be
accepted. JPEGs must be 72 dpi, at least 1200 pixels in one direction.
All entries must be of original design and personal execution. No
reproductions. Two-dimensional artwork must be ready to hang. Work on
paper must be suitably framed. Acceptable display of three-dimensional
work may be floor-based, pedestal-based, or wall mounted. The artwork
itself must be 12 inches or smaller in any direction, framing may be
larger if necessary with a maximum dimension on all framing of 16

All sales will be handled by gallery staff at Main Street Arts. The
gallery retains 40% commission on all sales, please price your work
accordingly. All work accepted must be for sale. Online sales will be
an option for artists who are selected for the exhibition. Sales made in
Main Street Arts online store will be under the same terms as

Main Street Arts is a commercial art gallery specializing in
