U.S. National Deadline: March 26, 2018 – Annmarie
Sculpture Garden and Arts Center, in Association with the Smithsonian
Institution, announces a call for entries for ‘Of a Feather: Birds in
Join us as we explore the wonderful, wild world of birds! With
dazzling displays of colorful plumage and a myriad of lively birdsong,
it’s no wonder our feathered friends have fascinated birdwatchers for
centuries. The jury seeks artwork that captures the vibrant spirit of
aviary life, portraying beauty, diversity and detail of the birds that
fill our skies.
On display May 25 – August 26, 2018.
All media welcome; small to large-scale works sought; indoor and outdoor
works to be included. The exhibition is open to artists age 18 and
older working in the U.S.
Annmarie will present cash awards to outstanding work. Jurors
will review installed works (not application images) for award
Annmarie exhibit are typically juried by a 1-2 member panel; typically,
one member of the panel is drawn from the Smithsonian Institution.
Artists will be selected based on skill, technique, and originality.
Artists must submit a $25 non-refundable entry fee for up to four entries.

Works selected for exhibition cannot be removed before the end of the
exhibition. Should a sale resulting from the exhibition occur, Annmarie
will retain a 40% commission of the listed sale price.

An affiliate of the Smithsonian Institution, Annmarie is a located in
scenic Solomons, Maryland, on the Chesapeake Bay. The sculpture garden
features a walking path that meanders through the forest, past permanent
and loaned sculpture, including more than forty works on loan from the
Smithsonian Institution and the National Gallery of Art. The garden also
presents a variety of special events, gallery shows, and engaging
public art programs throughout the year.
The Studio School offers creative classes taught by a talented faculty.
The award-winning Murray Arts Building, is a 15,000 sq.ft.
museum-grade exhibition space that includes two large galleries, a gift
shop, the artLAB, and a sunny patio that offers lovely views of the
