First Street Gallery' National Juried Exhibition

U.S. National Deadline: April 2, 2019 – First Street Gallery announces a call for artists for its 2019 National Juried Exhibition. On display June thru July 13, 2019.

Open to U.S. resident artists at least 18 yrs. old. Exception: Artists currently represented by ‘First Street Gallery’. Eligible works include ‘original’ oils, acrylics, watercolors, pastels, drawings, prints, photography, mixed media, and sculpture in any medium. No video, film, installation, giclées or similar reproductions.

Our juror for 2019 is Nancy Margolis, of Nancy Margolis Gallery, located in the Chelsea art district. International in scope, Nancy Margolis Gallery features contemporary painting, works on paper, and sculpture by emerging to established artists. The gallery’s artists are represented in institutions including Kiasma, Museum of Contemporary Art, Helsinki; Victoria & Albert Museum, London; Danish Museum of Decorative Arts, Copenhagen; The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, The Smithsonian American Art Museum, Washington DC; The Mint Museum, NC; The Museum of Arts and Design, NY; The Guggenheim Museum, NY; and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, NY… see more on Prospectus (pdf).

The fee is $35 for 1 – 3 works. $5 for each additional work, up to 6 works total. Entry fees are non-refundable.

Accepted work may be refused if it does not conform to the entered image or it does not meet dimension or weight limits as detailed on Prospectus. Absolutely no substitutions of accepted works will be allowed. All accepted work must remain in the gallery for the duration of the exhibition.

The gallery will take no commission on any work sold. Work not for sale must be marked “N.F.S.” No “P.O.R.” sales.

  • June 17 Hand delivery of work, 12 – 8 PM
  • June 18-19 Installation
  • June 20 Exhibition opens
  • June 20 Reception 6-8 PM
  • July 13 Exhibition closes
  • July 13 Pickup of hand-delivered work: 6 – 8 PM
  • July 15 Pickup of hand-delivered work: 11:30 AM – 5:30 PM
  • July 26 Return of shipped work by this date – via UPS or FedEx

First Street Gallery’ is a nonprofit contemporary art gallery located in the heart of Chelsea, steps from the High Line. We offer two exhibition spaces on the second floor of a prominent Gallery building.

Through innovative programming that brings art and the community together, First Street Gallery’ continues to nurture, educate, inspire and challenge artists everywhere. As an artist run gallery, we encourage members to pursue and determine the course of their own artistic careers.
