International Deadline: November 1, 2019 – Northwest
Arts Center announces an open call for artists worldwide to enter work
for its upcoming Americas 2020: Paperworks Exhibition.
Works in any medium, on or of paper, traditional or experimental,
including photographs, qualify. All works must be original and not
measure over 60 inches in any direction. Work must be ready to exhibit,
completed within the last two years, and not previously exhibited in an
Americas 2000 exhibition. It is preferred that two-dimensional work be
framed and protected by clear acrylic glazing.
Christina Z. Anderson’s work focuses on the family snapshot,
gender identity, the altered landscape, and the contemporary vanitas
printed in a variety of 19th century photographic processes, primarily
gum and casein bichromate, salted paper, cyanotype, platinum, and
mordançage. Anderson’s work has shown internationally in 110+ shows and
40+ publications. Anderson has authored books which have sold in 40
countries—The Experimental Photography Workbook, Gum Printing and Other
Amazing Contact Printing Processes, Gum Printing, A Step by Step Manual
Highlighting Artists and Their Creative Practice, Salted Paper Printing,
A Step-by-Step Manual Highlighting Contemporary Artists. Anderson is

$1500 in Cash Awards: five Merit Awards and one Best of Show,
plus Purchase Awards. Best of Show earns a 2021 solo exhibition and an
invitation to the Best of the Best exhibit. Paper Award: 25 sheets of
Awagami Editioning Papers from Awagami Factory, Tokushima, Japan, makers
of traditional washi papers
The Americas juried exhibitions publish illustrated catalogs. A complimentary copy will be sent to each entrant.

SALES and COPYRIGHTS
Sales will be encouraged. A 30% commission will be charged on all works
sold or purchased . Your entry grants permission to photograph your work
and to use your images for promotional or educational purposes only.
