10th Annual Pinnacle National Juried Art Competition

U.S. National Deadline: November 15, 2019 –  Florida A&M University’s Foster-Tanner Fine Arts Gallery announces a call for entries for its upcoming national Juried Art Competition and Exhibition. Artists over 18 years of age, residing in the continental United States are eligible.

Artists may enter up to three original 2D or 3D works of art. All artwork must be original and completed without supervision by an instructor in a class or workshop setting. All artwork must be suitable for professional presentation. Two dimensional works, when displayed, cannot exceed 48” in any dimension including frame.

The awarded works of art will be chosen by the juror from the physical work. No more than one prize will be awarded per individual artist $500 is awarded to BEST IN SHOW. There are also First, Second, and Third Place cash awards. Two Honorable Mentions (NON-CASH AWARD) will be acknowledged at the exhibition opening

A non-refundable entry fee of $25.00 is required for up to three jpegs

Artists may submit up to three JPegs via email or on a CD via mail with the $25 fee.

It is optional for exhibited artists to sell their artwork. Sales are the  responsibility of the Foster-Tanner Fine Arts Gallery, which will retain 10% of the selling price.


  • Pinnacle submission deadline: November 15, 2019
  • Notify Pinnacle winners: November 29, 2019
  • Send artwork to FAMU by: December 13, 2019
  • Pinnacle opens to the public: January 13, 2020
  • Pinnacle opening reception: January 16, 2020
  • Pinnacle closes: February 14, 2020
  • Art works shipped back to participants by: March 6, 2020

The Foster-Tanner Fine Arts Gallery offers enriching and engaging art exhibitions and public programming to the Florida A&M University and Tallahassee community. As a teaching gallery, we aim to be a resource for students, faculty, staff, and alumni, as well as create a space for cultural exchange among diverse groups of people. As a historically Black university art gallery, we are committed to featuring art primarily by artists of the African Diaspora, as well as committed to sharing our rich and diverse culture with the entire community.
