International Deadline: October 6, 2018 – Praxis
Gallery seeks the submission of photographs that celebrate the aesthetic
and conceptual considerations involved in the creation of the portrait:
revealing personal narratives or new anthologies through the artistic
representation of the subject. All genres, capture types, color and
black & white, traditional and non-traditional photographic and
digital post-production processes are welcome for submission.
Exhibition Dates: Nov 2nd – Nov 23rd, 2018.
Open to artists 18 years of age or older worldwide. All subjects,

Douglas Beasley’s personal vision explores the spiritual aspects of
people and place and is concerned with how the sacred is recognized and
expressed in everyday life. He has a BFA from the University of
Michigan, Ann Arbor and has had several books of his photography
As founder and director of Vision Quest Photo Workshops, Doug
provides workshops around the world that emphasize personal expression
and creative vision over the mechanics of camera use. Doug has recently

Thirty images will be selected by the juror for exhibition at Praxis
Gallery. A Juror’s Choice and Two Honorable mentions will be awarded by
the juror and featured in the exhibition, the printed show catalog and
the online show gallery. Award winners will receive a free show catalog.
The Juror’s Choice winner will be featured in (and receive a
complimentary copy of) Praxis Gallery’s Annual Review magazine.
The submission fee for entry is $35.00 for the first five images and $5.00 for each additional image.
Submissions are accepted as digital files through our online submission
form. Photographers will be notified of their selection after the
Praxis Gallery provides free printing, free matting and free framing for
all exhibiting artists. Praxis print technicians have over 30 years of
custom fine art printing experience. Images will be printed on our
state-of-the-art Epson P5000 printer on Moab Premium Archival fine art
EXHIBITION FRAME & PRINT SIZE
Praxis features museum quality 22”x 22” inch black frames. Selected
photographers will be asked to choose one of our three standard precut
white mattes: (a) 12”x12” (b) 12”x16” (c) 12×18.
SALES & ARCHIVE
Photographers who have designated that their exhibition prints are for
sale to the public will be contacted promptly regarding any purchase
inquires of their artwork. Praxis Gallery will take a 40% commission of
any sales. All exhibition prints will be archived for one year. All
selected digital file submissions will be maintained at the Praxis
Gallery & Photographic Art Center’s online gallery archives.
Praxis Gallery and Photographic Arts Center is a community based arts
organization that aims to support the development of emerging and
established photographers. Praxis Gallery provides solo and group show
exhibition opportunities to local and international media artists.
Praxis Photographic Arts Center offers a range of learning
opportunities for beginning, intermediate and professional photographers
through workshops and seminars. With an emphasis on creative expression
