Bareback III: Symmetry in Motion
By Studio C Gallery

International Deadline: September 16, 2018 – Studio C Gallery is looking for artists, whose work is inspired by the horse.

Horses fill our dreams. They are our inspiration. A horse’s spirit is akin to us all.

Humankind owes a great debt to our four legged friends. Domestication of the horse provided humans with mobility, survival and sport. Yet today, horses are facing a daunting challenge. Yearly round-ups by the Bureau of Land Management, kill buyers, horse racing breakdowns and drought that forces some owners to abandon their animals, have left horses lives in peril. This dilemma is not going away anytime soon, especially with the current Administration.

This is where we all come in, as artists. We can inspire our audience to take action, in paying homage to the horse.

Last year, Studio C partnered with Wild Horse Sanctuary and Dream Catcher L.A. This year we will be partnering with Wild Horse Sanctuary and Habitat for Horses.

Bareback II: Symmetry in Motion is open to all artists that reside in the Los Angeles area and beyond our borders. All entries must represent original works of art. We do not accept Giclee prints.

This exhibit has no predetermined expectation for type, style or media of work to be considered or selected. Submissions can range from the most traditional to the most conceptual or experimental. The only criterion is that the work interprets the them of the show, Bareback II: Symmetry in Motion, honoring the horse. All mediums are accepted, including video and installation.

All entries are submitted to a committee of 2 guest artist or art professionals and the gallery director. Each year new guest jurors are selected for the process of jurying.
